Choose a Size

The Nina Halter Top features an open back with tie up neck. The front is lined with a halter neckline, deep side cut, bust darts. The top has a relaxed silhouette and is cropped to the waist.

Sewing Level
This is project is suitable for intermediate sewing skills. Techniques include sewing darts, curved seams, understitching and inserting a lining. The most difficult part of the project is bagging out the neck tie to the neckline and bias binding the edges on the back pieces. 

Fit Notes
This pattern is a relaxed fit - it's recommended to choose the size closest to your measurements. If between sizes, size down.

Equipment Required

  • Main fabric
  • Lining fabric
  • Matching thread
  • Overlocker/serger (or zig-zag stitch)
  • Basic sewing tools such as fabric scissors, chalk, iron etc.
  • Point turner or blunt tool like a flathead screwdriver

Fabric Recommendations

  • Main fabric: a medium weight non stretch woven linen, hemp or cotton. Ideal weight is 180-250gsm.
  • Lining fabric: a non stretch woven cotton with the same or lighter weight than the main fabric. Ideal weaves include plain, poplin, broadcloth, lawn or voile. Alternatively, you could use the same fabric as the main fabric.

    Some information about the pattern file:

    • The pattern is layered so you can select and print your size only with Adobe Acrobat Reader. This is free to download here. Otherwise, you can print all three sizes at once with any other PDF reader. Most computers already have one installed, such as Mac Preview or Microsoft Edge.
    • All seam allowances are included.
    • The pattern lines are in black, with different dashed lines for each size.
    • The pattern pieces are printed as full pieces, but there are notes on which page numbers to print if you want to cut on the fold instead.
